Initially I moved to Nashville after high school to study music. Through shifting interests in arts and language I ended up in rural France where I found a renewed appreciation for the agrarian life I had first experienced as a child visiting the family farm in North-Central Kansas.

Returning to France to visit winemakers and grape-growers in Burgundy I had the opportunity to work on a small family farm where I discovered the value of good soil, heritage breeds, and seed selection. After returning, I joined the Sustainable Agriculture program at Johnson County Community College.

In late 2017, I found the perfect location for my small farm. 22 acres with a tobacco barn and deep loess soils. In June 2018 I brought home 4 Meishan piglets and 2 bred sows from Tennessee.
